Supporting Local Businesses: Gilbert Farmers Market

My family and I frequent farmers markets almost weekly, all around different areas of Arizona. As you know by now if you follow me on Instagram, we especially love markets in Gilbert, Chandler and Scottsdale....so, today I wanted to share some of the businesses from the Gilbert farmers market that we supported this week. Every week the variety varies, sometimes we are repeat customers to some vendors, and sometimes we try new ones that catch our eye Supporting Farmers Markets

This week we tried The Local Yeti, Proof Paletas Betty and Mr. Nelson's Cookies

1) The Local Yeti

The Local Yeti caught our attention with its fun name and logo, no to mention we love organic and juice, so we had to try it. To my surprise, this pressed juice was some of the yummiest I have tasted and I had a hard time picking a flavor to buy...I was tempted to buy a bunch! This time we tried the Citra Saurus, but it was a hard choice!juice

2) Proof

This is one of those vendors we go to repeatedly....bread is in my blood and I pretty much can't go a day without it...or pastries...or butter...or...you know, all of those good things. Put Proof at the top of your list and check out their many items...some even have chocolate in the middle <3 WOW! This week we tried some of their rolls to eat with BLTs and they were awesome.

3) Paletas Betty

My kids can never pass this cart up when we see it, and having 3 kids, I always have to get one for each of them. The nice thing is they have many flavors, as long as you grab them before they sell out. In this heat, their treats are extra tasty and satisfying...the strawberries and cream is always a winner.

4) Mr. Nelson's Cookies

Whenever I make chocolate chip cookies, I always add extra chocolate chips, and baking them is an art unto itself. We got to meet Mr. Nelson at the market and learned about his specially formulated chocolate chip cookies. I was amazed to learn he has a wide online reach and sells his cookies all over the US! If you stop by his table, he will gladly share a tasty sample and you will surely want another one...or maybe even a whole dozen!

I always say shopping local, small and supporting handmade is awesome. It feels so good to get out there and live out what I believe and share my findings with others. I am always interested in working with local small businesses and can't wait to meet more in the coming weeks at more markets. Once the cooler weather starts to come, I know even more crowds will be out to support these businesses too.
